What disability support is available?

Specialised Courses

The college also offers courses that have been specifically developed for people with disabilities:

Certificate 11 in Sewing Machine Operations (Special Needs).

First and Second Click Computer Literacy

This course is offered through the First Click program and offers basic computer literacy training.  For more information and to register interest, contact Adrian Valley at the Lower Great Southern Community Living Association on 9892 9426 or adrian.lgscla@iinet.net.au

Certificate 1 Trades Assistant

This course aims to enhance the employability of students by offering a range of work related training. To register interest please contact Terri Michael or phone 98918771.

These courses have extra support to assist students with disabilities to participate fully.

Certificate 1 in Gaining Access to Training and Education

This is a full time work and training preparation course for people who are starting to look for work, wanting to re-enter the workforce or move on to further training.

Lifestyle +

This programme offers supports and subsidies to practically the full range of  TAFE lifestyle courses.

The College has a Disability Services Plan and has developed a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan to further promote equitable access to college facilities and services.

Students with disabilities or medical conditions information sheet (PDF) or contact our Disabilities Services Officer: phone 98 928741. Wendy can be found in L Block at the Customer Service Centre on Mondays and Tuesdays. Wendy provides information and assistance to students and lecturing staff. She also coordinates individual support services for students with disabilities or medical conditions. Support is tailored to meet people’s individual needs and may include in class assistance, tutorial support and modifications to course content and delivery.
