Student Services is located in 'L' Block in the Customer Service Centre, Albany Campus.
Our Student Services staff are available five days a week from 8:30am to 5:00pm to answer your queries. At Great Southern TAFE, you will be treated as an individual and get the support you need to succeed. Whether TAFE is a stepping stone to further study or to employment, your success is our priority. Career Guidance
Our Student Services staff are qualified to assist you with career planning and goal setting, informally or using recognised tools and programs. They will provide you with information about the TAFE application process, study skills, learning support, course articulation and further study options, skills recognition, and credit transfer. We have a range of course brochures which make it easy to see how training and learning can help you achieve your career dreams.
Staff can also support you with personal issues such as managing stress and financial matters, which may impact on your study goals. Career Services
This specialised service offers support for students and graduates in applying for jobs, writing resumes and developing interview skills. Drop in sessions, group workshops and one on one sessions are available to help you plan for your future, incorporating information from industry and employment networks that will open up new job opportunities. This enables students to build confidence and employability skills recognised as critical factors in achieving a successful career pathway. We welcome students of all abilities and employ a Disability Liaison Officer who is available to provide one on one support throughout your time on campus to ensure you achieve your learning goals. If you do have supported learning needs, please talk to our Disability Liaison Officer to organise an indivualised support programme on 9892 8741.

Indigenous Support Officers are the first point of contact for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. They provide advice to students in relation to their courses, help organise study support, assist with Abstudy enquiries, referrals to other agencies, career advice, study options, and the selection of qualifications and course enrolment. Specialist teaching for students with English as a Second Language
ESL classes are available for students from different cultural backgrounds. Classes are small, so students get the individualised attention they need, in a safe and supportive environment, with people from all walks of life. For more information, please contact 9892 8756.
Literacy, Numeracy & Study Skills

Child Care
The Rainbow Child Care Centre, conveniently situated adjacent to the Albany campus, provides a range of high quality care options for students with young children. The centre is licensed to cater for children from six weeks to six years of age and is open from 7.45am-5.45pm Monday to Friday (closed on all public holidays). The centre is accredited and offers fun, exciting, developmentally appropriate experiences for all the children, and meals are prepared by an experienced child care cook. Child Care and Jet Assistance are available to eligible parents. For a comprehensive Parent Handbook covering all aspects of the Centre, simply call in and ask, or telephone 9842 5825.

Counselling Service
A counselling service is available to all students of the College. It is designed to provide support for students who may be experiencing difficulties with issues or situations impacting on their study. Appointments are confidential and can be made by calling Kipling Cutler & Associates on 9842 6411, or by contacting Student Services at the Albany Campus in person, or freecall 1800 675 781.
